Mylord Carthago
WBFSH ranking’s rising star
Mylord Carthago’s march towards the top of the WBFSH Show Jumping Sire Ranking still hasn’t come to an end. In 2019, he entered the top ten coming from place 25 and in 2020 he became the new number 4. This is of course thanks to the great performances in international sport by his offspring, with examples like Vertigo du Desert (Luciana Diniz), Alibi de la Roque (Julien Epaillard), Timon d’Aure (Alexis Deroubaix) and Bingo du Parc (Harrie Smolders).
In sport, the Selle Français and Holstein approved stallion achieved top results with Penelope Leprevost. Among those were victories and high rankings in many 5* Grands Prix and team silver for France at the World Championships in Kentucky and the European Championships in Madrid.
Mylord Carthago brings the best of German and French breeding together. Sire Carthago (Jos Lansink) is a two-time Olympic stallion who is one of the best progenitors of his generation. Dam Fragance de Chalus, a daughter of the French giant Jalisco B, was successful at international level and is one of the best brood mares in the history of horse breeding. She produced more than fifteen international offspring, six of which are qualified at 1.60m level. Granddam Nifrane is the half-sister to Morgat, winner of team gold and individual bronze at the 1990 World Championships.
